Onze visie
De Christoforusgemeenschap is een kleinschalige steinerorthopedagogische Vergunde Zorgaanbieder voor volwassenen met een verstandelijke beperking. In onze visie staan gelijkwaardigheid, lotsverbondenheid en respect voor de integriteit centraal.
De naam van de Christoforusgemeenschap is terug te brengen tot de legende van Offerus. In deze legende komt het verhaal van de zoekende, zich ontwikkelende mens sterk naar voren. Offerus is een man die op zoek is naar zijn bestemming, naar de zin van zijn leven. Hij gaat op weg en komt in allerlei situaties en bij allerlei mensen terecht. Telkens blijft hij er maar een tijdje, om dan weer op weg te gaan en verder te zoeken. Hij wil het goede zoeken, het goede dienen en gaat daartoe een ontwikkelingsweg. Dit is binnen de Christoforusgemeenschap een leidmotief voor de ondersteuning van de bewoners. We willen als ondersteuners het goede, het juiste zoeken. En we willen dit doen samen met de bewoner en zijn netwerk, zodat deze zijn zoektocht en ontwikkelingsweg kan gaan.
De Christoforusgemeenschap is een plek waar mensen zorgen voor de mensen. Maar we dragen ook zorg voor de aarde, de planten en de dieren. Want zorgen voor de aarde is zorgen voor de mens en we dragen elkaar hier in mee.
De Christoforusgemeenschap geeft uitdrukking aan deze visie op verschillende manieren. Ieder mens is uniek en heeft zijn eigen waardevolle taak. Iedereen zoekt op een eigen manier naar een plaats in de wereld waarin hij zich goed voelt en betekenisvol en dienstbaar kan zijn. Wij proberen samen deze individualiteit te herkennen, te ontmoeten en te helpen ontwikkelen. Door de woonvorm, de ambachtelijke werkterreinen, de aandacht en zorg voor het sociaal-cultureel leven wordt getracht de belemmeringen die de persoon ervaart te overwinnen en het gezonde in de bewoner aan te spreken.

Our vision The Christoforus community is a small anthroposophical care provider for adults with an intellectual disability. In our vision, equality, solidarity and respect for integrity are key.
The name "Christoforus" community can be traced back to the legend of Offerus. In this legend the story of the searching, developing human being is strongly emphasized. Offerus is a man who is looking for his destination, looking for the meaning of life. He sets out and ends up in all kinds of situations, with all kinds of people. Each time he only stays there for a while, and then sets off again to continue his search. He continues his search for the good, serving the good, developing to do only good. This is a leitmotif within the Christoforus community in the support of our residents. As care-givers, we want to look for the good, do the right thing. And we want to do this together with the resident and his network/family so that they too can go on their own quest and development path.
The Christoforus community is a place where people take care of people. But we also strive to take care of the earth, plants and animals. Because caring for the earth is caring for people and we want to contribute to this.
The Christoforus community strives to uphold this vision in several ways. Every person is unique and has his own valuable task within the community and this world. Everyone is searching, in their own way, for a place in the world where they feel good and can be meaningful and useful. Together we try to recognize, meet and help develop this individuality. We do so in the way we choose to live together, in our traditional labor, in the attention and care for the social and cultural life, an attempt is made to overcome the obstacles experienced by a person and to address the healthy part of each resident.
